Crichel is my 0/16.5 layout.

The article alongside has been scanned from Narrow Gauge World No 39 by kind permission of the editor, Andrew Charman.

Since that article was written, Crichel has developed somewhat and is now, unusually, 'U' shaped rather than the 'L' shape depicted here allowing an extension so that, at last, the railway actually reaches Long Crichel!

The smaller images below show more details of the lengthened railway.

All photos taken by myself

This view shows most of the station facilities at Long Crichel: carriage shed to the left and loco shed to the right. Edna pauses in the yard during shunting while Jack rests on shed.

A peaceful scene with D. Horton, builder, showing a customer the quality of his freshly delivered timber in his yard at Crichel while Edna simmers quietly behind.

No 11, the only un-named loco o the line being prepeared at Long Crichel. It seems I've always had a soft spot for De Wintons!

The very tight fiddle yard at Witchampton. This represents 'the rest of the World!'.
